Electric buggy pilot launches in Hammersmith & Fulham

And we’re off! Yo-Go is excited to announce the launch of our pilot, bringing the UK’s first pay-as-you-go electric buggies to the streets of Hammersmith & Fulham. Our aim is to provide an alternative to cars that is clean, convenient and fun and create safer streets for everyone.
We’ve been blown away by the response. Already over 250 local residents have registered to participate in the pilot, which will run until the end of October. Our goal is to test the buggies’ performance and most importantly learn how we can improve the experience for you, our customers.
You can find our first ten buggies on Woodlawn Road, at the junctions with Niton Street and Finlay Street. Scan them on the app, and return them to the same spot to end the hire.
They are fully insured and anyone between the ages of 25 and 70 who has held a UK driving licence for over two years can drive one.
They can carry two people plus bags, slot sideways into any parking bay, are ULEZ exempt, and will keep you (mostly) dry! They have a 30-mile range when fully charged, and you can drive where you want on 20/30/40mph roads (though not in the Congestion Charging zone just yet, coming shortly). They can also be parked free of charge in any Hammersmith & Fulham controlled parking zone.
We’ve launched Yo-Go because we believe it is time to rethink how we travel around our city, and offer people clean, healthy, practical alternatives to cars.
The stats speak for themselves. Transport is the largest source of UK greenhouse gas emissions, accounting for 26% of total emissions. Road traffic is the biggest source of air pollution, and across London an estimated 1,000 people die each year due to poor air quality.
But we can change this.
If every car in Hammersmith & Fulham drove just 5 miles less per week it would remove more than 10 million miles of traffic from the Borough's roads each year.
